The sister of Hamas’ top political leader Ismail Haniyeh has been put under house arrest today after she was previously arrested and indicted by “Israeli” authorities on allegations of terrorism - according to Hebrew media.

Haniyeh’s sister, Sabah Haniyeh, 57 years of age, was born in Gaza but carries an “Israeli” citizenship and lives in southern “Israel”

She was arrested on April 1, indicted on April 21, and put under house arrest today.

At the time of her arrest, she was "suspected of having contact with Hamas operatives and identifying with the organization, while inciting and supporting acts of terrorism in Israel,” a police spokesperson said.

They further alleged that they found documents, media, telephones, and evidence in her home which links her to “serious security offenses against the State of Israel,” according to the statement.

Ismail Haniyeh is a senior political leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the chairman of its political bureau. He relocated from Gaza to Doha, Qatar after being succeeded by Yahya Sinwar as the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
